Angels are units in an army created by the artisans of the Dia'e kingdom; made of porcelain that can't be penetrated, their sole purpose is to defend the kingdom against constant raids from creatures lurking in the surrounding shadows.

In one battle where the shadows got so close to the capital, the unexpected happened, darkness succeeded and got into one of the angels, infecting her body and causing her to become self aware for moments before she was going to turn completely dark, in those brief moments, she , for the first time had to make a choice, she decided to harvest that dark infecting her, use it to her advantage and make her unprecedented last stand count.

The creators now hold their creation in such high regard that her body is displayed in the capital, visited all day long and given thanks to by souls she saved.
